The 2nd Day Of Lent

We’re in the Lenten Season. Yesterday many began the spiritual journey with Jesus. I attended a morning and evening Ash Wednesday gatherings. Both were special.

In the morning gathering, there were candles surround the cross in the Upper Room. There were other candles in the chapel. We sung some songs and prayed. We repented.

Ashes were applied to our foreheads as our Pastor spoke this word. Remember, for dust you are and to dust you will return. Then we received communion. We ended with singing and with a blessing spoken over our lives.

In the evening gathering, I attended another church. It was a combination of Ash Wednesday with a Bible study. We learn more about what Lent was, prayed and sung some songs.

We ended the gathering with reflections and prayer. We placed what we were going to give up for Lent on the cross. We received communion and ashes were applied to our heads as the Pastor spoke words over us. We sung nothing but the blood of Jesus.

I’m thankful that Ash Wednesday. It’s a time of reflections of Jesus and the Journey to the Easter Season. Lent this the time of reliving, retelling, rethinking. I believe that there are many on the spiritual journey with Jesus to Jerusalem.

May we enter into the journey with Jesus. May the Holy Spirit help us fast and pray. May we be changed on the journey to the Easter Season. Amen.

Thanks for reading.
